Greetings! My name is Juliay Tippett, LCSW. In this lifetime, we experience many emotions and go through many different circumstances. Whether you are going through a life transition or trying to heal from past traumas, I seek to help clients through the therapeutic process by learning coping skills to assist clients in taking back control of their lives once again. With counsel and guidance, help and healing can begin. I am not a therapist who just sits and takes notes giving little direction. I am actively involved in the therapeutic process while helping my clients learn coping and communication skills using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I see clients individually from 7 years old to 70 years old. Teenagers are my very favorite to work with. I am most comfortable with Depression, Anxiety, and Adjustment Disorder diagnoses. I seek to offer a safe and supportive environment that will extend acceptance, trust, and understanding to those who are hurting. I allow the client to set the pace of the therapeutic process. Through losing my father to murder at a young age, I experienced depression, anxiety, and PTSD growing up. I always wanted to help others by giving them hope to not only survive life but to thrive in it. With the input of the client, we will make practical and achievable goals. I like to build a therapeutic rapport by gathering some past history and getting information on the presenting issues. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.
