Psychotherapist
FL
Hi there, I'm Julie Cardello, LCSW. "Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity." – Pema Chödrön. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from PennWest California, which laid the foundation for my approach to therapy. I focus on validation, encouragement, and creating a safe space where clients can feel truly seen and heard. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, breathwork, and mind/body connection techniques to support clients on their healing journeys. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addiction, trauma histories, codependency, grief, and significant life transitions. My communication style is calm, empathetic, and supportive. Working with me will feel safe, challenging, encouraging, thoughtful, and insightful. And at times, we might even find some laughter along the way. My journey to mental healthcare began after experiencing the benefits of therapy with a competent and compassionate clinician. I continue this work because I witness clients finding relief and connection as they courageously share their stories and show up for themselves. I meet clients where they are and help set realistic, attainable goals. Starting with "bite-size" steps helps prevent overwhelm and avoidance, paving the way for meaningful progress. In our first session, you can expect to feel heard, safe, validated, respected, and hopeful.
