My approach A stubborn truth about life is that being happy is really difficult! When we look at our own experiences, we can see that many of our problems are tied to how we feel and what we tell ourselves. Together we will explore the thoughts/feelings/behaviors that may be getting in the way, and focus on attaining that rich, values-based experience in life. My focus I work with individuals, couples, and families with the following challenges: Anxiety, panic attacks, and stress; Relationship struggles; Parenting challenges; Feeling stuck or unmotivated; Experiencing grief and loss My communication style Research shows that successful therapy is not about the modality; it's about the alliance created between therapist and client. My focus is on creating an empathic, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to explore all thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. My journey to mental healthcare After a successful career as an entrepreneur and business-owner, I felt it was time to do something more meaningful in life. As my oldest son started college, I, too, returned to school for my master's in counseling. It was the best decision I ever made! My goals for you My approach is collaborative; together, we will create goals and steps toward reaching those goals. My guidance will help you find obstacles and understand why you do the things you do, including self-sabotage. My first session with you In our first session, we will identify goals for our work together and create a plan of action. I use a variety of modalities to help you reach your goals, but it's important to first establish trust for you to feel safe in our relationship.
