Kaitlyn Brown, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Master’s in Social Work from the UCLA Luskin School of Social Work, I relocated directly to Placer County and have been providing behavioral health services locally ever since. I have more than 10 years of direct clinical practice experience in both mental health and substance use treatment. I received my license to practice clinical social work in 2017 and have recently begun supervising associates as well. I have experience treating a range of mental health concerns, from Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorders to Bipolar and Major Depressive Disorders, as well as anxiety disorders including PTSD and OCD. I believe that participating in therapy can be a uniquely beneficial process for improving overall health and wellness. Whether it’s healing from past traumas, adjusting to life changes, implementing new ways of thinking and feeling, or working to define our sense of self and value system, therapy can be an invaluable support along the way. I am currently offering telehealth appointments for individuals and couples. Integrating techniques from cognitive therapies with the unstructured components of narrative therapy offers many benefits. This approach allows the opportunity to share and process your story in your own way while taking time to notice and reflect on your thoughts and feelings. My approach can be helpful in many ways, including processing past traumas, managing and improving depression, anger, and anxiety, addressing self-judgment and guilt, and identifying ruminative and false thoughts. If any of this sounds helpful to you, please reach out to schedule a phone consultation or initial appointment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is an opportunity for you to determine the specific areas of your life that you would like to work on changing, and start the work of changing them. Whether you feel your thoughts and moods are out of your control, your value system is misaligned with your sense of self, or you are just not living the life that you imagined you would be living, individual therapy is the time to focus on you. After identifying your goals for therapy, we will spend our time together exploring where the work needs to be done and developing the skills necessary to improve these areas.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
