Getting to know Kaitlyn Seikunas

At Alpenglow Counseling, LLC, I provide a safe and supportive space for preteens, teens, and adults to navigate life’s challenges and embrace personal growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Whether through the convenience of online therapy, meeting in person at the office, or the grounding experience of walk-and-talk sessions on Boulder’s scenic trails, i’m here to support you. Together, we’ll create a path toward healing, clarity, and resilience. I can’t wait to meet you and begin this journey together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During a typical 50-minute session, we’ll begin with a brief check-in about how you’ve been feeling since our last meeting—any wins, challenges, or shifts in mood or behavior. From there, we’ll focus on one or two topics you’d like to work on, such as a recent anxiety-provoking situation, a troubling thought pattern, or an emotion you’ve been avoiding. I’ll guide you through evidence-based exercises tailored to your needs—this might be a mindfulness meditation to ground you in the present moment, a CBT thought-record to challenge unhelpful beliefs, or a narrative-therapy prompt to explore and reframe personal stories. We’ll also use art-therapy techniques when appropriate, such as drawing or journaling, to access feelings in a more experiential way. Before we wrap up, we’ll summarize any insights gained and agree on one or two practical “between-session” activities—whether that’s practicing a breathing exercise or experimenting with a new coping strategy. You’ll leave with concrete tools to apply in your daily life, and we’ll review your progress at the start of our next session.
