Getting to know Kaixin Zoey Zhang

Hi there, I'm Kaixin! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have a Master's of Social Work from San Diego State University. My specialties include depression, anxiety, trauma, immigration, cultural issues, crisis intervention, and grief/loss. My approach I use a lot of CBT and EMDR as my therapeutic approach. I'm EMDR trained and very close to being certified. I like to use different approaches to tailor to my client's needs and preferences. My focus Since I'm trained in EMDR with a trauma-focused professional background, I worked with a lot of people who have suffered different major life traumas, including immigration, torture, rape, religion, and family/childhood trauma. My communication style I like to think of myself as a very friendly and approachable person. I want my clients to feel comfortable in our therapeutic relationship so they could feel heard and understood. My journey to therapy I started working as an office assistant with a hospice service company. It inspired me to go back to school and get my master's degree in social work. It is during the school years that I really fell in love with therapy work and decided to make my passion my career. My goals for you I believe having clear goals would help greatly with the different steps we could take to get to the destination we want to get to. I am also aware that goals can be changing all the time, and I want to make sure I'm flexible and considerate of my client's conditions.
