Getting to know Kamaria Taylor-McCune

My practice assists clients across North America who are impacted by a range of concerns including trauma, anxiety, and depression through a racially sensitive treatment approach. We also work with clients seeking to improve their relationships with themselves and others by helping them understand and process the impact of historical and generational racial trauma on their relationships with their families, friends, and partners. I am a therapist who strives to fully understand my clients and their needs in order to create an optimized approach to meet their goals. I specialize in working primarily with adult men and couples in conflict to help them address issues such as infidelity, communication, stress management, anger management, relationship building, and sexuality. At Yolo Therapy, our ultimate goal is the well-being of my clients. For various reasons, many clients are unable to access traditional therapy settings, but I do not believe that should prevent them from receiving exceptional services. I have tailored my practice to the needs of those who require alternative options to therapy and am here to help you. I hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master's in Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, and a PhD in Criminal Justice from Walden University. This diverse educational background informs my comprehensive and empathetic approach to therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect to address the root cause of their clinical concerns as opposed to focusing solely on the development of coping with these issues. Clients can expect to feel safe and supported while revisiting experiences that continue to create discomfort and distress in their present lives. Clients are also challenged to address thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve them in who they are and how they show up in the world.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
