Getting to know Kandi Shaw

First of all, pat yourself on the back for taking that step towards a healthier, more fulfilled you! Whether that “You” is a hardworking single mom living in survival mode, a young college student trying to figure out this whole adulting thing, or just a little human trying to make sense of your world (or anyone in between), WE got this :) In my decade and a half of experience, I’ve worked with all ages from 4 to almost 80. I have specialized in kids with tough backgrounds and trauma but have also had great success with adults who just need someone in their corner to remind them of who they are and what they are capable of! Life can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be unmanageable. Let me be your partner in healing and learning. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you on your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients should generally leave session with a sense of empowerment and direction. Some sessions may require more emotionally of you, so we will make sure you are ok before sessions end. In time, the goal is that we build trust and connection so that when we get to the hard stuff, you feel confident to take it on!

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
