I also support couples with communication, premarital, pre-engagement, and pre-cohabitation concerns. Having worked with various populations and presenting issues, I have developed these specialty areas. Being a 1.5-generation immigrant has given me firsthand experience and insight into the difficulties and challenges children of immigrants may face. However, my specialty areas do not limit my ability to work with a variety of clients. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Walden University and am trained in marriage, couples, and family therapy as well as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). My therapeutic approach primarily utilizes techniques from Structural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, with other methods incorporated as needed to support each client’s unique needs. I am a Jamaican-born Licensed Professional Counselor who conducts sessions in English and Jamaican Patois (Patwah). Starting therapy for the first time or with a new therapist can feel uncertain or scary. I aim to work with you to eliminate or minimize these feelings by providing a safe, non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable and supported on your therapeutic journey.
