Karen Savlov, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Karen! My name is Karen Savlov, and I work under my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a PsyD from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, an MBA, and master's degrees from Antioch College and California State University, Northridge. I also earned my bachelor's degree from The University of Arizona. Are you experiencing life or work-related stress and anxiety that feels debilitating? Are you stuck and unable to move in a positive direction that brings fulfillment? This is probably not the way you expected your life to be. Together, we will explore patterns of communication that may have contributed to your current concerns. I practice Attachment Relational Therapy, an approach that helps you tackle difficult problems in a safe environment so you can gain the peace of mind you are striving for. I have over 22 years of experience helping children, teens, individuals, couples, and families identify what has blocked their progress and make important life changes. Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly 30 years helping groups and individuals at UCLA function more harmoniously. As you can see, I bring both life and work experience that can support you in reaching your goals. I have a special interest in autism and have successfully helped teens and adults on the autism spectrum learn to express their feelings and manage anger, leading to more successful lives. Other specialties include work-related issues, anger management, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges, to name a few. My approach to therapy is psychodynamic, informed by systems, attachment, and cognitive behavioral theories. I focus on individuals facing work-related problems, depression, anxiety, and adults with Asperger's. I create an open, inviting environment for my clients and am interested in all aspects of their lives. I am also very interactive during sessions, fostering collaboration and understanding.
