Hi there, I'm Katie! My name is Katie Wilkinson, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Loma Linda University. I feel honored when my clients trust me with their life struggles, and it is an even greater honor to see my clients grow and learn how to embrace challenges that come their way! My approach As your therapist, I will always demonstrate empathy, openness, and allow you to direct treatment. Change comes when we work collaboratively to set goals. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Client-Centered Therapy. My focus I have experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, substance use, grief and loss, and adjustment to life changes. My communication style In session, I practice active listening, am eager to learn more about your story, and develop an open way of communication as we build trust. My journey to therapy The majority of my career has been as a medical social worker. This is very rewarding, but I always crave more time with my patients. Being a therapist gives me the opportunity to get to know my clients better and journey through the seasons of change with them. I look forward to getting to know you and making positive changes for life! My goals for you Therapy is about you, so goals of treatment will be your prerogative. However, I am here to help solidify and clarify those goals. My first session with you In our first session, I will spend time getting to know you, we will develop some treatment goals, and we will discuss the therapeutic process so you can have appropriate expectations.
