Hi there, I'm Kathie! My name is Kathie Land, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Jacksonville, Florida. I work with clients statewide via telehealth, serving children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in anxiety, stress, and trauma. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. I earned both my Bachelor's degree and Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, which laid the foundation for my counseling approach and passion for helping others. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward. I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for youth and adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I work with my clients to help build new skills to cope with these transitions. My communication style is calm, accommodating, and understanding. I want my clients to feel safe and comfortable speaking with me about anything, and I listen and support my clients in a nonjudgmental way. I have always been a helper and listener. I decided to continue my education to become a counselor because my daughter, who was 8 years old at the time and terminally ill, told me, "Mom, if I can do my schooling and do good, so can you." My therapy practice has become an honor to her. Setting goals with clients is a collaborative project. I like to build trust and rapport while working together to establish what the client would like to work on, with the client leading the way.
