Getting to know Kathleen Bridges

Hi there, I'm Kathleen! Hello! I'm Kate Bridges, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of New England. My focus areas of practice are grief, loss, adoption, trauma, depression, and anxiety. I treat adults 18 years and older. I will support you with a down-to-earth, approachable treatment that will both support and challenge you to help meet the goals you wish to achieve in therapy. My approach I center my approach on supporting each client's unique treatment needs. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused approaches to help clients reach their treatment goals. For those who have experienced trauma, I incorporate a trauma-informed lens. Each of these methods fosters a therapeutic alliance that motivates change and deepens self-understanding. My focus I support adults navigating life transitions that can increase stress and cause identity challenges. Stressful changes related to work, family dynamics, caring for an aging parent, or medical issues can contribute to depression and anxiety, and I am here to help you through those times. My communication style My communication style is person-centered, calm, grounding, and caring. I want my clients to feel safe and know they can trust me with the vulnerable aspects of their lives. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a therapist began with my grandparents. I loved listening to their stories of struggle, love, culture, and how their views shaped our family. Since a young age, people of all ages have told me I'm a great listener who genuinely cares about their stories. This desire to support people through hard situations led me to become a therapist. My goals for you I believe counseling should be an interactive process. I will support you in gaining insights about your life and help you achieve personal growth to live a more productive and happier life.
