People always say that you are amazing and strong, that you get everything done and make it look easy! You love to hear the compliments; however, you feel like it's not true. Everything is stressing you out more each day. Chaos is the new normal. You know that you have people who want to support you during this time, but even that seems overwhelming. You feel like you are a burden at times to others and also the only one who can get things done. There are times when you want to cry or scream or maybe even just laugh at the way life is going for you... but you tell yourself you cannot because there are other people depending on you. I have a passion for meeting people where they are to help them get to where they want to be. I have worked with people who have shared these same thoughts as they journey with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and grief/loss. While some of these feelings are similar, I understand that these experiences are unique to you and feel overwhelming. If you want to feel like you are in control over the chaos of life, therapy can help. I hold a Master's in Social Work and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, Austin, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you through your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My clients tell me that they feel like they have hope after their first session. They feel like they can finally start to breathe. They rediscover that they have the ability to manage their lives. Within the first few sessions, you will learn about setting expectations and boundaries as well as practical strategies to help manage emotions and stress. I like to ensure that we work collaboratively to create an individualized approach meant just for you because this is about and for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I understand that sometimes it feels impossible to describe what's going on and that sometimes it feels like no one else gets it. I get it! In sessions, you can cry, scream, and say whatever you need without fear of burdening others or being judged. The goal is for you to rediscover your strengths within the first few sessions and for you to feel confident to move forward on your own. I provide online therapy so clients can process their difficult emotions and find hope from the comfort of their home.

We are firm believers that clients can progress further, faster when they are matched with the right therapist. For example, the right therapist will connect with the client and know how to structure sessions and guide a client to their desired result. We're often asked why we no longer accept insurance. While most understand that parts of our healthcare system are broken, not everyone understands just how complicated using their health insurance for mental health services can be. This is the reason only 20-30% of therapists are willing to even accept insurance anymore. We are part of the 70-80% that don’t want insurance companies telling therapists what therapy should look like. We don’t think it makes sense for an insurance representative who is not in the therapy room, not aware of your personal situation and doesn’t have professional mental health training to be making therapy decisions. In short, we no longer accept insurance because we got sick of playing the insurance game. While there are a few good insurance companies out there, we’ve found that most are more difficult to deal with than they are worth. Instead of wasting our energy fighting with them, we devote all our attention to helping our clients get the results they want in the most timely manner. We are more than happy to assist you in trying to take advantage of your out of network benefits. While we do not participate or directly communicate with insurance panels, we can provide you with a superbill (receipt of your payment for the treatment you received) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Out of network benefits vary from insurance plans.
