I believe that a safe and trusting relationship with the therapist is the key to change in therapy. It takes courage and the ability to be vulnerable to look at ourselves honestly. I will provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental atmosphere. We will work together to identify the obstacles that are blocking your growth. I will be your guide in trying to help you increase your awareness of what your needs are so that the changes you desire in your life can occur.
Kathleen is a Licensed Associate Counselor who began her career in nursing over thirty years ago. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at William Paterson University and a Masters in Professional Mental Health counseling from William Paterson University. She has experience in working in acute and chronic health care settings. Kathleen understands the connection between the mind and the body.
Kathleen incorporates using emotional focused therapy in working with couples, and a compassion/person centered approach with adults and teens. She looks at client’s attachment styles, cognitive distortions that client’s use, and likes to teach DBT coping skills.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking, going to Broadway shows, and spending time with my family and dogs.
