Kathleen Green, LCSW

Psychotherapist
IL
Hi, I’m Katie Green, LCSW, a Chicago-based therapist specializing in dementia and Alzheimer’s care. My passion lies in walking alongside individuals and families as they navigate the complexities of life with dementia, offering compassionate guidance and support every step of the way. I believe in the importance of evidence-based practices and continually pursue training and education to stay informed of the best approaches for dementia care. My experience spans a wide range of support: from guiding people through dementia-related crises during 2 a.m. phone calls to developing long-term therapeutic relationships that evolve with the many chapters this diagnosis brings. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the resilience and strength of the human spirit, even in life’s most challenging moments. I am committed to educating and normalizing the experiences of those impacted by dementia while creating a safe, supportive space for them to process and grow. This work requires openness, flexibility, understanding, and a willingness to sit with the “hard stuff,” and I consider it a privilege to be there with my clients during some of their most vulnerable times. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your family, or as a caregiver, I am here to provide expert guidance, empathy and practical tools to help you navigate this journey. If this seems like a good fit, please feel free to reach out. ?

In-network insurances

Kathleen Green, LCSW is not in-network with any insurances

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

More information on payments and coverage

Payment FAQ: Why don’t you take insurance directly? Many insurance plans require a formal mental health diagnosis to provide reimbursement. This often doesn’t reflect the real needs of caregivers and families navigating dementia, whose challenges are unique and complex. By not billing insurance directly, I can focus on providing flexible, personalized, and truly person-centered support without the constraints of insurance requirements. For clients who wish to use their benefits, I provide the necessary documentation for out-of-network reimbursement whenever possible. How does payment work? Payment is due in full at the time of the session. I accept all major credit cards as well as FSA/HSA cards. If you have out-of-network benefits that you would like to utilize, I can provide a superbill after payment has been processed.
