Kathy Keith, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Kathy! My name is Kathy Keith, MA, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Community Counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University. My approach to therapy is humanistic, personal, and problem-focused. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the client's needs, including personal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, ACT therapy, reality therapy, interpersonal therapy, and positive psychology. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, OCD, and other mental health issues. I also work with adults, teenagers, and couples. My approach The most common theoretical approaches I use are CBT, interpersonal psychology, trauma-focused CBT, reality therapy, ACT, mindfulness, and positive psychology. My focus I typically work with adults, teenagers, and couples. My communication style I work hard to create an open, nonjudgmental environment in which the client feels accepted and respected. I hope that working with me is comfortable and supportive, helping clients feel safe and respected. My journey to therapy I came from a dysfunctional family and experienced mental health challenges as a young woman. When I sought therapy for myself, I discovered I had much to learn about developing better coping skills to become the person I wanted to be. My goals for you My approach to setting goals lets the client determine what goals they want to work on. My first session with you During the first session, I want to get to know you and listen to the problems and concerns you are seeking therapy for.
