Psychotherapist
1314 Oregon St, Redding, CA
I am Katie McCullough-Stubbs, a licensed marriage and family therapist. Therapy is collaborative and together we will find your inner wisdom while learning new ways to navigate life. My approach Therapy is best when client-centered, strength-based, and together we find ways to hold space for difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I use trauma-informed modalities such as brain spotting, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy techniques. I am also trained in Triple P, Aggression Replacement Training, and SMART recovery. My focus Latter-Day Saints, Christians, trauma survivors, grief/bereavement, anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, LGBTQA1+ advocates, those in leadership roles, and anyone willing to try and improve their quality of life. My communication style I believe in honoring the therapeutic relationship by creating trust, emotional safety, and holding space for dark places and emotions. I interweave humor, and psychoeducation on the brain and body as well as highlighting and reinforcing strengths and progress. I will respectfully and intentionally challenge a client to gently facilitate growth and awareness. When utilizing brain spotting you will feel connected and comforted while healing trauma and other personal stressors. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had a passion for helping others and standing up for what is right. I developed a clear path for my career as a young adult. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in San Diego CA and have continued to develop my expertise in both non-profit and for-profit environments. Healing trauma and helping individuals recognize they aren't alone, broken or bad has become a passionate pursuit of mine. If I can be a holder of hope for someone until they are able to hold hope for themselves then I have made a positive impact in the world. I want to serve others with my talents and skills to the best of my abilities.
