Hi, I'm Katie Stafford, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor with over 10 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I specialize in working with high-achieving individuals who often find themselves carrying the weight of everyone else's expectations while struggling to prioritize their own needs. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I integrate evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and parts work to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, and create lasting change. My goal is to provide a supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to live more authentically and intentionally.

Getting to know Katie Stafford

Hi, I'm Katie Stafford, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Qualified Supervisor with over 10 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. What should a new client know about working with you?

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling exhausted from always being responsible, the helper, the fixer, or the person everyone depends on. They are often successful on the outside but overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected on the inside. When working with me, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you don't have to have all the answers. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. I'll help you explore patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop practical tools that you can apply in your everyday life. I am direct when needed, supportive throughout the process, and committed to helping you create meaningful change, not just temporary relief.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions focus on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and identifying your goals for therapy. We'll explore what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. From there, we'll create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and strengths. Sessions often include identifying patterns, developing coping strategies, processing emotions, improving relationships, and building skills that support long-term well-being. Therapy is not about "fixing" you, it's about helping you better understand yourself, break free from patterns that are no longer serving you, and move toward the life you want to create. We will regularly check in on your progress and adjust our work as your needs evolve.
