Psychotherapist

Hi there, I'm Kayla! If you've ever felt completely overwhelmed by life and the million decisions you have to make every day, you're in luck, because that happens to be my specialty. I've been a counselor for over 15 years. If you're looking for someone to cares deeply about your struggles, but is also not afraid to give you tough love, schedule some time with me! My focus I've worked with neurodivergent clients, young adults, struggling adults, parents, middle aged people in transition, and people of all ages just trying to figure it out. I've also worked with people struggling to figure out who they are and how to be comfortable with that. My approach I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, nor do I believe in an alphabet soup dedication to approach. I take techniques and strategies from here and there, we try it, we keep what works, and we get rid of what doesn't. My communication style I'm very laid-back and casual. Whatever you're bringing to me will be met with compassion and non-judgment. I've also been told I'm very blunt, direct, and honest. Therapy can also be about learning some hard truths about yourself. I prioritize honesty between us, so I'm open to feedback if we're going to fast or getting too intense. My journey to mental healthcare My own mental health struggles are what led me to become a therapist myself. More recently, my struggles as a mom to a neurodivergent child have led to me support neurodivergent teens and their parents in their journey of diagnosis and treatment. My goals for you Your goals should be yours to set: they should be realistic and attainable, but healthy and sustainable too. Its my job to help make sure those criteria are in place so we can help you meet your goals together! Then we set mini-goals every week to help you meet the big goals long-term. Our first session Our first session will be fun as we get to know each other and share our struggles and commonalities.
