“I chose Keav as I tend to prefer Asian American female therapists, who can relate to being culturally American (born and raised) while also relating to the dynamics of being in an Asian household. What stood out to me in the first few sessions was the questions Keav would ask me - questions that went straight to the core of the concern/issue. I tend to ramble or not clearly know what conclusion I'm trying to come to, and in fact I am wanting clarity of my own thoughts which Keav helped me with.”

Getting to know Keav Khov

Hi there, I'm Keav! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, California, working with adults statewide through telehealth. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help you progress toward your goals and feel better. My approach My approach to therapy accommodates your specific needs because no two people are alike. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to better understand your reality and support you toward your goals. My focus My studies, training, and expertise have made me a good fit for adults of all ages dealing with life transitions, traumatic experiences, and feelings of being stuck, unworthy, or unwanted. I will help you process these challenges and build the necessary toolkit you can use throughout your life. My communication style My communication style is open and unassuming-I listen first to ensure I have a full and accurate understanding of everything you share with me. My journey to mental healthcare I knew I wanted to become a therapist after recognizing my passion for listening to and helping my friends with current and ongoing issues. I continue to feel passionate about my work with clients and look forward to working with you on your path to wellness. My goals for you My approach to goal setting is collaborative-we are better equipped to reach your goals together if we are on the same page about your needs and how you want to approach them. My first session with you Our first session will focus on understanding what you have been feeling recently and what motivated you to start or restart therapy. I will ask questions to better understand you-your thoughts, feelings, and actions. From there, each session will be tailored to your evolving needs.

Keav is an attentive and empathetic listener and your sessions will be based more on you doing the talking, so if that is your preference on how your sessions will be run, then she is for you, but not if you prefer some structure and guidance in your sessions. My rating is a bit lower due to my own experience - I had hoped communication could have been a bit clearer/better. I wish her all the best.
