Getting to know Keegan Starr
Hello, my name is Keegan Starr, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC#14938) with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Thank you for taking the time to view my information. I consider counseling others a tremendous privilege.
My approach
I take a person-centered and strength-based approach focusing on my clients' current skills and needs to develop effective treatment. Together, we determine goals, identify barriers, and work to overcome them to achieve the desired outcome. I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Analysis, and various elements best suited for each client.
My focus
I offer youth, teen, individual, couples, and family counseling; parenting classes and mental health groups; as well as court-mandated DVRP groups, counseling, and reunification counseling.
My communication style
I strive to create a calm, empathetic, and safe environment that allows clients to freely and honestly explore what they are going through.
My journey to mental healthcare
For as long as I can remember, I've had a caring heart for others and wanted to see them at their best. My desire to help others live a life filled with peace and joy through both good and bad is what drives me as a counselor.

During the first session, there will be some mandated information I need to cover. Your patience is appreciated during this time. Afterward, it will be your chance to share your story while I listen. My goal is to intently get to know you and begin developing a treatment plan to help you reach your goals. I will ask questions for clarity, and this is also your opportunity to ask me questions as your clinician.
