Psychotherapist
1572 Hwy 85 N, Fayetteville, GA
Hi there, I'm Kelley! Hello, my name is Kelley Brown, and I'm a nationally board-licensed professional counselor (LPC) with a Master's in Counseling from Argosy University and over 15 years of experience helping individuals achieve optimum wellness. My approach My theoretical approaches are grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Trauma, Gestalt, and Gottman Therapy. I am also certified in Anger Management. My focus I work with and am most comfortable with individuals, couples, marriages, teens, and adults who are dealing with grief, trauma, life stressors/adjustments, relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. My communication style I create a safe, pleasant, empathetic, relaxed, non-confrontational therapeutic environment. My journey to mental healthcare I started my journey as a therapist over 20 years ago. As a former educator, I was afforded the opportunity to serve children and their families, which sparked my desire to explore the counseling field. I have extensive experience working in various mental health settings, including community-based mental health programs, psychiatric hospitals, core services, government, and private practice. I'm driven by my passion to serve individuals, shaped by my own experiences, family experiences, and my belief that there is hope in the recovery and healing process. My goals for you I allow my clients to set their own goals and provide support and person-centered therapeutic interventions to aid them in reaching those goals. My first session with you My first sessions are never the same, as I try to get a good sense of how the individual is presenting, and most times that dictates the initial conversation. In most first sessions, I like for each of us to introduce ourselves to begin building rapport. I also share a few things about myself to provide background and a foundation for connection. After the introductions, I ask the individual how I can serve them.
