Getting to know Kelly Hyde

I have over 17 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults, couples, and adolescents. I began my career at Johns Hopkins Hospital, working as a clinician in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry. I have also been part of interdisciplinary clinical mental health teams in schools, treatment centers, and private practice. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. My areas of expertise include trauma-both present-day and developmental-PTSD, mood disorders, LGBTQ issues, relationship challenges, family functioning, stress, and grief, although I have worked in other areas of mental health as well. I believe the most important factor in choosing a therapist is finding someone who has also done their own mental health work. I am dedicated to ongoing personal growth and therapeutic development so that I can be at my best when supporting others on their mental health journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I know personally that making a choice to seek therapy is often a hard yet necessary first step in obtaining the life we want. Helping you feel heard and understood is my first goal. I will partner with you in this process of healing and change, working together using many possible therapeutic techniques and modalities based on what is the best fit for you. We will spend time thoughtfully understanding your mental health needs, your interpersonal strengths, and your perceived challenges. Through the process of therapy, we will work to empower you to resolve and or make peace with your challenges, while enhancing your interpersonal resources. It would be a privilege to work with you on your personal journey.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
