Getting to know Kelly Kennard

Do you feel like something is holding you back? Getting in your way? Many people encounter barriers-barriers that keep them from achieving their goals, interfere with their relationships, or prevent them from moving forward. These barriers can take many forms, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or communication patterns. This is where I can help! I have worked with crisis services and trauma survivors throughout my career, and I understand that trauma can look different for everyone. I enjoy nothing more than helping clients identify the barriers holding them back, creating a plan to break them down, and taking steps toward progress. I hold a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Akron. Additionally, I am licensed as both a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Clinical Counselor, so working with couples is a particular passion of mine.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a straight forward clinician. In our first session, I'd like to get to know you and what brings you into treatment. I'll take whatever information you feel is pertinent to the presenting problem (Not related? Don't feel comfortable? We can get to it later, no worries!) I will ask questions to better understand and help get to the bottom of it, so we can move towards your goals. I'm a fast mover organically but can slow down to a pace that the client is most comfortable with; I'll follow your lead!

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
