Hi there, I'm Kelly! I'm Kelly McIntyre, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in California. I completely understand that therapy can feel scary and overwhelming, especially if you've never been before. When meeting with clients, my overall goal is to make them feel seen, heard, and comfortable, taking the pressure out of therapy. As a therapist, I understand what it's like to go on this journey, and I'm passionate about joining others in their personal growth while providing empathy, insight, education, and mindfulness. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University, which laid the foundation for my work with diverse clients. My approach Since all clients are unique and no one fits one particular format, I utilize a variety of modalities and techniques. I'm trained in Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Solutions Focused, and Trauma Focus modalities. My focus I am fully trained in EMDR and specialize in working with adults of all ages facing mental health issues such as anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, mood disorders, relational issues, life transitions, and stress. My communication style My communication style is very open, non-judgmental, and straightforward. To me, therapy shouldn't feel intimidating or stiff. It's a time for two people to get together to work through some of life's hardest moments; I strive to make it feel effortless and like sitting with a friend. Additionally, I explain and provide education so clients can better understand what they're going through, offering resources and techniques to help outside of sessions. My goals for you My approach to goal setting is always collaborative and discussed in the first few sessions as trust is built. It’s completely okay if goals shift or change—we’re always evolving and growing.
