Getting to know Kelsey Funk
Hello, I'm Kelsey. I received my Master of Social Work from Ohio University in 2017. Since then, I've dedicated my career to supporting individuals through various stages of life and mental health challenges. My journey began at a community mental health organization where I provided care to individuals of all ages, addressing a wide range of symptoms and acute mental health crises. One of my proudest achievements during this time was helping to establish the first trans affirming care program within the organization. I am deeply committed to creating a space where everyone feels valid and safe.
For the past five years, I have been working as a bereavement counselor in hospice care. Supporting and educating clients about grief and bereavement is my true passion. Our culture often avoids discussions about death, leading to unrealistic expectations about grief. My goal is to help you understand what to expect and to validate your experiences as you navigate this difficult journey.
I am also passionate about assisting individuals experiencing major life changes or transitions, those dealing with medical issues, caregiver stress, new parents, and anyone facing symptoms of depression or anxiety. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, focusing on your unique needs and experiences.
Outside of my professional life, I am dedicated to continuous learning and personal growth, always striving to provide the best care possible. I believe in the power of therapy to transform lives and am here to support you through whatever part of life you're going through right now.
