“Ken is good at finding some tangible areas of improvement and staying on topic to address the concerns, generally focusing on one main thing at a time. I tried many therapists, and before Ken it felt like ranting at a wall, but now I feel heard and like progress is being made. Very conversational, non-judgmental, and stays positive.”

“I was looking for a male counselor who was older and had a lot of experience. I have characteristics once known as Asperger‚Äôs syndrome and his profile mentioned that as one of his areas that he addresses. We have had many counseling sessions where he has given me great advice and I have been making progress in dealing with issues related to my marriage, hoarding and sleeping patterns.”

Getting to know Ken Kaiser

Hello everyone, my name is Ken Kaiser. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Houston, and I have been working as a therapist for over 20 years. I treat all ages, from children to seniors. My approach I have a compassionate approach using multiple modalities to help people accomplish their therapy goals. Primarily, I use a cognitive behavioral approach but utilize whatever would be most helpful and am comfortable incorporating spirituality. My focus I see clients of all ages. The areas where I am most helpful include anxiety, depression, attention problems, obsessive-compulsive issues, anger, marital concerns, and sexual issues. My communication style I use a client-centered approach with both listening and solid direction when it is needed. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been drawn to the helping professions and found psychotherapy to be one of the most direct ways to be helpful. My goals for you I work cooperatively with clients to determine what goals would be appropriate for our therapy together. My first session with you In the first session, we discuss a little bit of your personal background, more detail on what is bringing you into therapy, and attempts to deal with the problems that were partially successful and those that were not so helpful. We end the session with clear goals and most likely some type of homework.
