Hi, I'm Kenia.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine in 2012, and my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2015.
I work with patients facing various issues such as anxiety, autism, ADHD, stress, depression, mood disorders, OCD, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, divorce, family conflict, self-esteem, relational issues, parenting, behavioral issues, anger management, women's issues, life transitions, and LGBTQ+ concerns.
I am passionate about empowering others; I strongly value and encourage acceptance and self-empowerment to aid in increasing potential for achieving goals, building resilience, and enhancing overall happiness.
What should a new client know about working with you?
First session will involve an intake; gathering information that may be relevant to treatment, coming up with treatment goal/s, and arranging for frequency and scheduling. Afterwards, sessions are typically unstructured and open, consisting of check-in, reviewing progress and homework assigned, discussion of presenting problem/s, and exploring barriers, if any. Homework may be assigned, to aide with implementing, and practicing skills learned in sessions. In your sessions, you can expect to feel that you are in a supportive, patient, and non-judgmental environment.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
