“I really enjoy Mr. Bennett's time. He is listening, thoughtful and encouraging, and has done a great service walking me through my self healing. Mr. Bennett is more male-focused, although I'm sure he has female clients as well, but it really helps, at least for me, to have another man to talk with who actually understands where I am coming from. I really feel blessed having found him, and will continue seeing him for the foreseeable future as I walk this journey. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my thoughts, and keep up the good work !”

Getting to know Kenneth Bennett

My name is Ken Bennett and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in mood and anxiety disorders with an emphasis on Trauma and PTSD. I take a very non-judgmental approach while building on your strengths and the ability to implement good coping mechanisms to reach your treatment goals. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful interventions for positive change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that a successful therapy session helps clients feel that they are on a healing path and moving toward achieving their goals. They feel empowered and hopeful knowing that they are moving in the right direction. Positive expectations, a strong therapeutic relationship, and hope are the keys for clients to feel successful and motivated to continue on their journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I have over 20 years of professional experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & anger management. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. My approach to therapy is very non-judgmental, empowering, and healing in nature. I truly believe the client is the true expert on themselves, but I would like to partner with them to figure out what we can do together to get them to where they need to be. I like to take a team approach as we get on this path of healing together. This way we can build a therapeutic relationship and keep each other accountable as we work to reach their treatment goals. This approach has been very successful, in that it empowers the client to participate in the therapeutic process with the therapist as a team, as well as process interventions that custom fit them as a person.

Ken has helped me navigate some very difficult times in my life over the last few years we’ve been working together. He is a wealth of knowledge and his expertise shows in every one of our sessions. Ken has a cool, calm, and humble demeanor that makes me feel comfortable even when we’re discussing uncomfortable topics. His approach is holistic in practice and his feedback is always insightful and respectful. I look forward to every one of our sessions. Ken’s the man!
I e really enjoyed my sessions. I’ve done a lot of work with Ken and have found myself in a much better mood through the day. I have new ways to challenge myself and to help give myself credit. The progress in a short time is amazing.
Ken was an amazing therapist, he gave me amazing insights and helped me in a lot of my struggles. He built a plan of care based on me. He referenced books and ideas and philosophies that were powerful for me. He truly seemed to go above and beyond. He made conversation easy, and he was incredibly easy to get along with.
Ken has been instrumental in my ability to start to heal and mentally get stronger. I was lost just a few months ago, and now I feel like I have a purpose and a plan. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him.

Kenneth was very focused on diagnosis and medication management in my appointment. I personally would have preferred a more holistic perspective focused on listening, understanding, affirming, and providing feedback. Medications are not everything to some people, and even if a therapist is recommending it, they should take time to make a person feel heard and understood. He seemed completely focused on telling why what I was feeling was actually wrong on the variety of issues discussed. When at one point I said “sure I must have been wrong there”, he just said “no, no, I’m not saying that” but he had spent quite a bit of time telling me how I was actually wrong and didn’t follow up this comment with how I might be right. He just wouldn’t say anything positive or affirming about me, what I said, or what I felt. This seemed unusual for 60 minute therapy session.
Great listener
