Hi there, I'm Kenneth! My name is Ken Dunham. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I approach therapy with the core concept that all humans are "hard-wired" for connection. My counseling style is holistic and eclectic, focusing on the client’s thoughts, feelings, behavior, and beliefs. I regularly use psychoeducation, including neuroscience and evidence-based research. My approach I integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Family Systems Therapy. I have additional training in trauma, attachment, and working with unwanted sexual behaviors and addictions. My focus I work with individuals, couples, and teens, often supporting those dealing with relationships, premarital issues, betrayal, sex addiction, and trauma. I also focus on identity, family of origin, attachment issues, and sexuality. I use Sexual Identity Therapy to help clients resolve conflicts between their sexuality, values, and identity. My communication style I want clients to feel safe, supported, and emotionally validated. Using a warm, client-centered style, I balance empathy with measurable goals, challenge clients as needed, and move at their pace. My journey to mental healthcare Growing up, I often found myself in relationships where I was the helper or supporter. I worked in customer service, administrative, and managerial roles and attended therapy to heal from a chaotic household. I returned to school after identifying my strengths and values. My hope is that everyone I work with knows they are worthy of love, care, and attunement, with intrinsic worth regardless of circumstance. My goals for you I interview clients to understand what they want and hope to gain, always at their request.
