Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Kenneth! Great to meet you! One of the most important decisions you can make in life is the decision to ask for help. The fact of the matter is we all need help from time to time. As a counselor with a Master?s in Counseling from Mid-America Christian University, I provide guidance and assistance in resolving personal, social, and psychological problems. I am committed to working with you to find solutions. My approach My primary modalities are solution-focused therapy, CBT, and EMDR. Often, in our effort to solve today?s issues, we will uncover underlying problems from the past that affect current thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behavior. I will work with you to create and develop new ideas and ways of coping. My focus As a veteran, I have a unique background in working with military members and their families. Some of my areas of focus are anger management, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. Additionally, I offer counseling from a Christian perspective upon request. My communication style I want to give clients the space to express themselves fully without interruptions, ensuring they feel acknowledged and understood. I will be honest and straightforward while remaining kind and supportive, especially when discussing sensitive topics like addiction or trauma. I focus on empowering clients to find their own answers while offering guidance, fostering a sense of independence in their healing journey. My journey to mental healthcare I love being a therapist because I love helping people look at the variables that affect their behavior?thoughts, emotions, and actions?and helping them respond in different ways. There?s nothing like the moment of helping a person have a new experience of themselves or their partners in a way that opens them up to a fuller, richer life. My goals for you I will ask detailed questions to assess your current emotional state, history of mental health, and any substance use, anxiety, or depressive symptoms.
