Getting to know Kenya Anderson

Kenya Anderson is an Air Force veteran offering eight years of experience within the criminal justice and criminal investigator fields. She has supervised and trained staff in law enforcement, regulations, policies, information, and organizational security. She has accounted for government resources valued at over $4.5 million while meeting the vision of senior leadership and diplomatic staff. Kenya possesses a comprehensive background in leadership, accountability, and risk management derived from years of substantial federal and private security experience. She is passionate about quality standards of performance and production within an organization while meeting and exceeding goals. Additionally, Kenya is a skilled professional with exceptional communication skills who excels at working within a team environment. Never one to neglect her roots, she also uses past experiences to mentor veterans transitioning from the military to civilian life. She has assisted veterans through what can be a very fearful time of change by providing career planning and benefits counseling as a veterans service representative at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Kenya has also conducted research on sexual violence and mental health challenges within minority communities, advocating with the nonprofit organization The Dixon Education Foundation. As a Master of Social Work student at the University of North Carolina, she has interned with the Department of Social Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and Quality Comprehensive Health Care. These opportunities have provided collaborations with interdisciplinary teams, case management, resource referral, and evidence-based therapies to achieve the best optimal outcomes for clients' physical, mental, and emotional health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Having earned a BS criminal justice degree at the University of Maryland University College and MSW at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as an adult student, Kenya focuses on issues of equity and social justice. She explores the critical theories and intersectionality to investigate topics found at the nexus of race, gender, and experiences of oppression. Her personal goal is to educate, empower, and uplift marginalized communities that exist within our societal fringes. Her experiences are profoundly rooted in grass-root agencies that promote social justice. Kenya exhumes as a shining example of how determination and perseverance can result in a transition from Airman to an amazing social worker.

Best therapist ever! Kenya has this knack for making you feel heard and really understood. Plus, shes just so genuinely caring and compassionate. Can't thank her enough.
I was not made aware of there being an issue with my insurance, I called the office about this matter and was not made aware it was an issue with the appointment that was booked for 4/22/24 and no response from the office, rebooked due to a scheduling conflict and rebooked for 4/23/24 and still nothing. I assumed I had an 11am appointment but got no call. I’m highly disappointed in the service I received
