Getting to know Keri Onan-Levy

Hi there, I'm Keri! Hello, I'm Keri Onan-Levy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My work with clients is grounded in respect, empathy, reliability, intelligence, and professionalism. My practice focuses on supporting individuals as they navigate life's challenges, process experiences, and work to better understand themselves. My approach My approach to therapy is unique to each individual. I use a variety of theoretical approaches including Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Trauma Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. All treatment options are discussed with my clients. My focus I primarily work with adults. My clients are culturally diverse and seek support with issues such as life transitions, grief, relationship issues, self-esteem, family of origin issues, trauma, and identity. My communication style I work hard to establish an environment where clients feel safe to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Respect, empathy, and deep listening are central to my work. I am reliable and genuine, use humor and playfulness, and have a calm, steady presence in the face of strong feelings. My journey to mental healthcare My professional development includes a drive to develop strong skills to assist individuals navigating life’s challenges and losses. I have deep respect for people and use all my life experience and professional abilities to listen fully and deeply. I have completed three master’s degrees, including a Master’s in Social Work from California State University San Marcos and a Master’s in Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, which have helped me develop a broad clinical understanding. It is my privilege to work with people as their therapist. My goals for you Goal setting with clients is ongoing. Often, we only know “something is troubling or hurting.”

I first came to Keri because of cancer. During treatment, I came frighteningly close to death from sepsis. Thankfully, I’m now two years NED, but what a wild ride it’s been. Our work became about so much more than cancer—grief, resilience, parenting, advocacy, career changes, and finding my way through it all. Keri was a steady, compassionate presence who truly listened and helped me grow. I’m deeply grateful for her care.
Keri has been instrumental in the success of my mental wellness journey over the past two years. I have lived with complex trauma for a very long time and have spent my time with her working through it, thanks to her guidance. I have made so much progress, and will continue to do so. She is realistic and firm, while providing a safe place to speak unfiltered. I've learned so much about myself and will continue to work on my mental health. I now work through challenges in a healthier way.
She is extremely patient and thorough.
