Getting to know Keshia Keyes-Anderson

Hello! My name is Keshia Keyes-Anderson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Northern California. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Child Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Through my clinical work, I provide therapeutic support to clients experiencing difficulties with their gender and/or sexual identity and expression (both internally and externally), clients with symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, those struggling to identify and maintain healthy relationship dynamics and boundaries (romantic, platonic, and/or familial), and clients who wish to process traumatic experiences or life stressors related to these aspects of the human experience. My approach The most common theoretical approaches I utilize are couples therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy. My focus I love working with couples and individuals who are eager to learn and improve their situation. My communication style Clients can expect a warm welcome and a safe, supportive space. My hope is to create an environment where clients feel comfortable speaking openly about anything. My journey to mental healthcare I have been working as a therapist since 2015 and obtained my clinical licensure in 2019. During my time as a mental health provider, I have worked for various community-based organizations and within the Child Welfare system. I have served diverse populations, including but not limited to the LGBTQIA+ community, Commercially Sexually Exploited Children, and African American communities, as well as individual adolescents, teens, adults, and couples. My first session with you In our first session, you can expect a warm welcome and a safe, supportive space. We'll start with introductions and then explore the specific challenges that brought you here. Together, we will establish goals, allowing me to create a tailored plan for our follow-up sessions.
