Getting to know Kevin Larkins

My name is Kevin Larkins, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Atlanta, Georgia, working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Clayton State University. I work with adolescents and adults, specializing in anxiety, stress, depression, couples therapy, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, relationship issues, interpersonal conflict, LGBTQIA issues, and trauma-related concerns. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, Anger Resolution, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach The needs of each person I work with determine how I approach therapy. Because each of the frequently used modalities aids in developing a strong therapeutic alliance between my clients and me, I most often employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with Interpersonal, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, EMDR, DBT, Family Systems, and Reality Therapy. These modalities enable us to collaborate and find a shared understanding of their reality. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teens, young adults, families, and couples who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. Additionally, my approach provides a safe space for the LGBTQIA community, who often face similar challenges. These challenges often manifest as anxiety, depression, stress, and interpersonal conflict. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style My communication style is assertive, calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.
