Hi there, I'm Kevin! Professionally, I have a PhD in Clinical Sexology and am a certified sex therapist. I hold a clinical social worker license and ten years of professional work experience. In addition, I am certified as a Certified Addictions Professional and Substance Abuse Professional for the national transportation industry. For the last ten years, I have been certified in Gambling, Internet Addictions, and Impulse Control disorders. I have been trained, developed, and have real-life experience in helping clients in areas of coping with addictions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, intimacy-related issues, trauma concerns, dealing with grief and loss, and impulse control disorders, to name a few. I believe that you are the expert on your story and have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, and I am proud of you for getting started! Like many people who have passions for cars or exercise, it is my passion to assist individuals in learning how to manage their lives, providing more fulfillment. Personally, I am laid back, honest, and reliable. What I enjoy most is being with family and friends and having quiet time. My approach In a therapeutic setting, my approach focuses on providing supportive, empathetic, and evidence-based guidance tailored to the individual's needs. I typically utilize an eclectic style that offers insights grounded in several well-established therapeutic theories. Here are some of the most common theoretical approaches I draw from: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This approach is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. CBT focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors and replacing them with more constructive ones. It’s effective for a range of issues, including anxiety and depression.

Kevin has been a great partner for my treatment

I think our personalities match really well. He's very supportive and listens to me without interrupting when I'm giving a monologue, which is very often. I feel seen and heard. I really appreciate his time and glad that I found him at Rula!
I’ve been in treatment with Kevin for approximately seven months for issues regarding a traffic accident that resulted in my wife’s death. He has been available and is truly engaged in my healing process. Through both discussion, writing/journaling, and EMDR, I have been able to engage in a productive life, as opposed to my outlook for the future prior to engaging and treatment with him. I highly recommend his style and ability to connect with people.
I came to Kevin after trying several times to find a therapist who I meshed well with. Kevin stood out to me right away for how sincere and open he is about his background and philosophy to help. I felt comfortable sharing what brought me to therapy and the pain I was in. Kevin has helped me work through some very dark mental health periods, find the root story I've held on to that was not helping me. He's helped me unpack and rebuild my sense of self. Highly recommend.
Kevin is a good therapist. He offers tools for dealing with what you are trying to work on. He also is not pushy on making you talk if you are not ready. I would recommend Kevin.
