Kevin Wurtz, LMFT

Kevin Wurtz, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Kevin Wurtz, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) with 21 years of experience. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach. During my undergraduate studies, I was also a Division I student-athlete as a member of the Men’s Golf team, competing for four years. You’ve probably heard the saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." I’ve always disliked that saying because it felt like it left me, the therapist, powerless to help facilitate change in my clients’ lives. So, I decided to change it: "Yes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. HOWEVER, if I make the horse THIRSTY enough, he'll drink ON HIS OWN!" I believe that as a therapist, my job is to help clients see their strengths and potential so clearly that they come to believe it themselves.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
