Khanh Hua, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Khanh! My name is Khanh Hua, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) based in Orange County, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University Long Beach. I have 15 years of experience working with young children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, postpartum issues, and history of trauma using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Focused Treatment, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I strive to be an effective therapist by selecting for each client the therapy that fits their personal characteristics and the issues they are facing. My approach My approach to therapy depends on the needs and identified goals of each client. For example, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when clients struggle with getting unstuck from unworkable patterns of behaviors and thoughts that pull them away from who they want to be and the quality of life they deeply desire. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy when clients lack the skills to manage their emotions effectively. These approaches ask clients to be active participants in their healing. My focus I am comfortable working with children, adolescents, and adults. I typically work with clients seeking to better understand what impacts their emotions and behaviors as they face issues such as acute or chronic stressors in school or the workplace, major life transitions, grief and loss, history of trauma, relationship struggles, aging, caretaker stress, or social pressures. When these issues occur, I believe clients are doing their best to cope short term, but this short-term gain often brings ongoing pain and suffering in the form of anxiety, depression, and traumatic responses over the long term.
