Whether this is your first time seeking counseling or you are returning, we all experience worry, anxiety, sadness, depression, or other life challenges. You are to be commended for taking steps to strive for positive change(s). My counseling style is client-centered and collaborative in nature. Sessions, topics, goals, and pacing belong to you. My approach My theoretical orientation to care is a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and existential exploration. This approach encourages self-reflection, objective goals, and consideration of the larger subjective worldview context. Skills and coping strategies are applied between sessions, and the effects of which are processed together. My focus I work with adults who have experienced struggles with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma, and personal crises. Sessions focus on supportive and collaborative work on your prioritized goals, strengthening coping, and achieving desired changes. My goal is to assist in the recognition of personal resources, empowerment, and resilience. My communication style My communication style may best be described as open, direct, respectful, reciprocal in nature, and working together to accomplish your personal, identified treatment goals. Active listening is integral to counseling. I depend on you to share feedback about what works best for you to progress effectively on this journey of learning and growing. My journey to mental healthcare My own journey of becoming a counselor is based on the belief that individuals and families are resilient, can heal, grow stronger, and recover from challenges and adversity. People have the ability to reach their potential and goals. These fundamental beliefs have been proven true in my work with many wonderful clients over the past years.
