Getting to know Kimberly Naraine

Hi! I'm Kim Naraine, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) residing in California. I provide virtual individual therapy sessions for those living in the state. I work with a wide range of ages and specifically focus on providing collaborative care to my clients. I enjoy offering skills and solutions while teaching how to honor emotions. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Fullerton, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches. My approach My passion is to connect with people in a way that makes them feel seen and heard. I'd describe my therapeutic interaction as casual and informal. However, the therapy modalities I use are all evidence-based. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and a DBT-informed approach. I believe therapy is a unique space for emotional healing and mental processing. My focus In my experience, my approach tends to be a good fit for individuals aged approximately 16-45 who may be dealing with childhood trauma, life transitions, interpersonal relationship issues, and broader identity-related concerns. I have worked with a wide variety of mental health disorders and feel very comfortable supporting those with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma histories, stress-related disorders, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder. My communication style When working with me, you can expect someone who genuinely wants to connect and build a strong therapeutic relationship. I highly value creating a safe and judgment-free space. Although, I don’t mind challenging perspectives and helping you see things from a different light. My goals for you I strongly believe in collaborative goal setting. I want to ensure that my clients are in the driver’s seat of their treatment. However, if goals are unclear, we can always clarify them together!
