Getting to know Kimberly Orellana

I am a Central American immigrant and a licensed therapist (TX LMSW#107399) with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston. Eight years of engaging with my community through both professional work in the mental health field and political activism have shown me the urgent need for more trauma-informed licensed therapists who are native Spanish speakers. Becoming a psychotherapist who wields a multicultural lens and challenges the pervasive colonial narratives in the mental health field is my lifelong journey. My approach is affirming and grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. I have helped many clients with anxiety, intergenerational trauma, low self-esteem, relationship uncertainty, and depression. As we travel on your journey together, we will collaboratively build a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and goals. I practice under the clinical supervision of Rebecca Rosalez, MSW, LCSW-S. At this time, the only insurance I accept is Cigna in Texas.
