What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine collaboration rather than something being done to you. My role is not to tell you what to do or judge your choices. My role is to help you understand yourself more deeply, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and create space for healing and growth. Many of the clients I work with have experienced trauma, difficult relationships, childhood emotional neglect, religious trauma, or life experiences that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves. Together, we move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your nervous system. I prioritize emotional safety, transparency, and consent throughout the therapeutic process. While I am trained in EMDR therapy and other trauma-informed approaches, I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Treatment is tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, values, and goals. I strive to create an environment where you can show up as your full self and where all parts of your story are welcomed with curiosity and compassion. Above all, I want clients to know that healing does not require perfection. You do not need to have the right words, a clear plan, or everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin exactly where you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Every client is different, so therapy is tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and goals. Our first few sessions focus on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, exploring your history, and identifying what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. Once we have a clearer picture of your goals, we will develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. Depending on your concerns, therapy may include EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, attachment-focused work, mindfulness, cognitive and behavioral strategies, or other approaches that support healing and growth. I believe that lasting change happens when we address both present-day symptoms and the underlying experiences that contribute to them. For many clients, this means not only learning coping skills but also processing unresolved experiences that continue to affect emotions, relationships, self-worth, and daily functioning. Throughout the process, I encourage open communication and collaboration. We regularly check in about what is working, adjust our approach as needed, and move at a pace that feels safe and manageable. My goal is to help you build insight, develop practical tools, and create meaningful, sustainable change in your life.
