Getting to know Kristal Struble

My name is Kristal Struble, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist seeing clients in California via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from National University. Most of my experience has been working with teens and adults needing help with anxiety, stress, anger management, and trauma. I take a client-centered approach to provide a safe place for processing. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on each client's needs. I seek to understand where the client is using Narrative and Humanistic Therapy. I also believe in caring for the physical body while addressing unwanted emotions or thoughts, which may include some somatic practice. My focus My expertise includes anxiety, addiction, childhood abuse, and grief comorbid with complex trauma. I bring 15 years of law enforcement experience to my practice. With this background, I often work with teens, young adults, or women seeking identity after hurt, and men seeking to change or process feeling stuck. My communication style My style is calm, positive, and always listening to understand better. I ask questions to offer different ways of understanding or use analogies to help make sense of things. If appropriate, I try to incorporate laughter, as it is healing. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist after many years in law enforcement, witnessing the high need for mental health support for officers and communities. Observing family-of-origin hurt and systemic flaws encouraged me to be a different kind of help. I believe in caring for everyone, no matter their background, and it gives me joy to see people find hope. My goals for you I start goal-setting by exploring why clients seek therapy. We then discuss what finishing therapy would look like and the process to get there.
