Psychotherapist
2429 S Prairie Ave, Pueblo, CO
I am a trauma-informed therapist specializing in EMDR, and I am dedicated to helping clients heal from painful experiences, reduce emotional distress, and build healthier, more adaptive patterns of living. My approach is warm, steady, and collaborative. I believe that healing happens when clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to move at their own pace. In my work, I use EMDR as a primary treatment modality because it allows the brain to process unresolved memories and beliefs that continue to affect daily life. Before we begin any processing, I focus on building trust, strengthening coping skills, and ensuring you feel grounded and prepared. Throughout the EMDR phases, I provide clear guidance, consistent check-ins, and a calm, structured environment so you always understand what we’re doing and why. I integrate complementary approaches—such as CBT, DBT-informed strategies, mindfulness, and resourcing techniques—to support stabilization and long-term change. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your internal world, more connected to your strengths, and more aligned with the life you want to create. Above all, I value authenticity, transparency, and respect. I am committed to walking alongside you as you move toward healing, clarity, and a renewed sense of self.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a calm, supportive, and structured therapeutic experience centered around EMDR. I take time to ensure you feel safe, prepared, and grounded before we begin any trauma processing. My approach is collaborative and paced intentionally — you will never be pushed faster than you’re ready to go. In our early sessions, we focus on building trust, strengthening coping skills, and identifying the patterns or memories that continue to affect your daily life. Once you feel resourced and stable, we move into EMDR processing, where we work together to reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences and help your brain integrate healthier, more adaptive beliefs. Throughout the process, I maintain open communication so you always understand what we’re doing and why. My goal is to help you feel empowered, supported, and in control of your healing journey. EMDR can be transformative, and I’m committed to guiding you through it with care, clarity, and respect.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My work with clients follows a calm, structured, and collaborative process designed to support safety and readiness at every step of EMDR therapy. A typical session begins with checking in about how you’ve been feeling, what has come up since our last meeting, and what your nervous system needs that day. From there, we decide together whether the session will focus on resourcing, stabilization, or EMDR processing. In the early phase of treatment, sessions focus on building trust, strengthening coping skills, and helping you feel grounded and prepared. We explore your history, identify patterns that continue to affect your daily life, and develop personalized tools you can use between sessions. This preparation phase is essential—it ensures you feel supported and equipped before we begin processing any traumatic or distressing memories. Once you’re ready, EMDR sessions follow a structured eight-phase model. We identify the target memory or belief, activate the associated material, and use bilateral stimulation to help your brain process and integrate the experience. Throughout this process, I maintain a steady, supportive presence, checking in regularly to ensure you feel safe, regulated, and in control of the pace. Every session ends with grounding, reflection, and a plan for how to care for yourself in the days that follow. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling supported, informed, and empowered in your healing journey.
