Getting to know Kristina Mills-Gregory

Hi there, my name is Kristina Mills-Gregory, and I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina and Florida. I have been providing therapy for over 12 years. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Campbell University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before becoming a therapist, I began my career as a school counselor in public schools and have also worked in community mental health, offering a wide range of services. My passion is helping others achieve their goals, which is why I take a partnership approach to therapy. We will work together to ensure you are moving forward in your progress. I use a variety of techniques tailored to the individual based on your needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Technique, and Person-Centered therapy. I strive to create a safe and secure space where you feel free from judgment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During the first couple of sessions, we will discuss your mental health history, medical history, and social aspects, as well as what you are currently experiencing. This is the assessment, and helps me get to know you. Once we complete that process, sessions will start to address current symptoms, and dive into history as needed. My approach is laid back, and it will feel more like a conversation. This is part of ensuring that you are as comfortable as possible.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
