Getting to know Kristine Peters

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I hold a degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States, as well as a Master's in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University. With several years of experience in behavioral health, counseling, and therapy, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, and other emotional concerns. My approach My therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other tailored approaches that best suit the needs of each client. I firmly believe that therapy is most effective when approached collaboratively, working together as a team to achieve a healthier mindset and meaningful goals. My focus I specialize in working with adults, particularly focusing on areas such as anxiety, stress, trauma, and substance abuse. My communication style I strive to create a calm and relaxed environment, free from judgment or pressure. My approach involves meeting each individual “where they are,” which allows us to establish goals and determine the best direction for their therapeutic journey. My journey to mental healthcare My path to becoming a therapist is deeply personal. Growing up, I witnessed the impact of mental health and substance use issues within my family, as well as the challenges they faced due to stigma and lack of professional support. These experiences motivated me to pursue this career, with the goal of reducing barriers and providing clients with a safe, supportive space to receive the help they need. My goals for you Goal setting is a collaborative and empowering process that I tailor to meet the unique needs of each client. My focus is on creating a safe, supportive environment that encourages self-reflection and exploration.
