CA
Hi! My name is Krystal Carrillo, and I am a bilingual Spanish-speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in San Diego, CA. I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. I am passionate about helping adults with diverse backgrounds who struggle with daily life stressors, boundaries, and feelings of self-worth. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and a Person-Centered approach. My approach I use an integrative trauma-informed, person-centered approach, providing a safe and empathetic environment where clients can explore the connections between their thoughts, behaviors, and past traumas. Through genuine care and a strengths-based focus, I empower clients to heal and grow at their own pace. My focus I’m looking to work with adults who are seeking a supportive, nonjudgemental space to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. They may have experienced trauma or life-challenging events and are ready to understand how these have shaped their current struggles. I work with individuals who battle with daily life stressors, anxiety, boundaries, and negative feelings of self-worth. My communication style People describe me as a warm, personable, and genuine individual. I create a safe space by practicing awareness, empathy, and compassion. A good relationship consists of building trust through open and direct communication. My hope is that my clients learn to trust me and feel safe enough to begin actively working toward their goals. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I was eager and curious to understand people’s behaviors. In addition, I experienced various life events and people that impacted me both positively and negatively. This led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Social Work. I’m driven to show up for people in hopes that they feel and know that they are not alone and that their voice matters.
