Hi there, I'm Krystal! I'm Dr. Krystal Hays, a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have experience engaging in psychotherapy with adults suffering from adjustment challenges, depression, grief, and other serious mental illnesses. I specialize in working with African Americans and can integrate Christian faith into therapy. My approach I practice solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing to help clients achieve their goals. When requested, I use a Christian faith integration approach and a strengths-based method to address racial trauma among African Americans. My focus I work with adults facing all types of emotional and relational difficulties. I have expertise in issues affecting African Americans and Christians and am very comfortable treating racial trauma and spiritual or religious challenges. My communication style I am compassionate and direct. I empower clients to take the lead while gently nudging them toward their goals. My journey to mental healthcare I feel like therapy chose me, not the other way around. My career began in community mental health, where I worked with low-income adults struggling with severe mental and emotional problems. My passion for helping those who are hurting and broken has kept me in this profession. Over 18 years, I have trained and taught countless new therapists to love the profession and serve with excellence. I remain committed to eliminating the stigma that prevents many from seeking mental health care by walking alongside those who are hurting. My goals for you I am values-driven and encourage clients to identify and move toward their values. I use SMART objectives to help clients establish goals aligned with those values.
