Krystie Wilson, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
Hi there, I'm Krystie Wilson! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s in Counseling from Marymount University. I strive to create healthy changes in the lives of my clients. We often spend a lot of time in our own heads, focused on what has happened or what isn’t happening. If you feel like you’re struggling to silence negative thoughts, feeling alone, or unable to move forward in your life, I can work with you to overcome mental blocks, fears, rejections, and past traumas. My overall goal is to help you feel more in control of your emotions and thoughts so you can be excited about life again. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, as I aim to help my clients achieve greater self-awareness and overall happiness. I primarily use strategies from Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Strength-Based Therapy. Through various techniques, I focus on changing negative thoughts that lead to sadness, feeling overwhelmed, and frustration into thoughts that give you hope and strength to make healthy and effective decisions. Working together, I am optimistic that we can make changes allowing you to live a fulfilled and happier life than you imagine. I typically work with clients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. Unpacking your concerns can be challenging but not impossible. Through consistency and openness, my clients achieve their therapeutic goals and feel confident making the best decisions for themselves. Choosing the right therapist is important and can be difficult by simply reading a profile. My approach is to create a nonjudgmental and empathetic environment where you can be heard and tell your story. My goal is for you to feel comfortable sharing the inner thoughts that others may dismiss.
